Coul Brewing Company is a family owned and operated craft beer microbrewery, founded in Glenrothes in 2017. Coul Brewing Company is excited to reignite the drink making history of Coul, where the Coul Reservoir (from which the brewery takes its name) was originally built in 1890 to supply the Haig Whisky Distillery.
Coul Brewing Company is the first professional venture that builds on more than two decades of home brewing experience and passion of self taught brewer brothers Andrew and Martin Dean, who want to share their enthusiasm and great tasting recipes. Andrew’s wife Robyn leads the sales team with her experience in the food production industry and her parents; Sandra and Mark are responsible for business and logistic management.
Coul Brewing are dedicated to the creation of premium small batch craft beers. Passion drives their desire to bring quality and flavour with a new and exciting range of beers in traditional Scottish and modern styles.
Coul Brewing began in earnest in February 2018, where we created a custom built microbrewery, converting a domestic garage into a fully functioning brewery. Our brewery is controlled by a unique fully automated, hand built control system to deliver consistent high quality beers. We strive to use local ingredients and suppliers where we can. We are passionate about recycling and reusing as much as we can. This system allows us to reclaim heat from our heat exchanger. In efforts to reduce waste, our spent grain and hops are used turned into delicious dog biscuits or cow feed for local farmers.
